College and Tuition Essay
College education is a highly talked about subject among the presidents. For many years college education was not highly sought after or looked for, then when people who did go to college started getting better paying jobs than everyone else more and more people started to go to college. Since college is such a hot commodity these days the price of a college education is on a steady rise. Some experts have a very strong opinion as to why college education is on a rise and some believe that that it is not on the rise. To begin to understand this issue, we have to first examine the history and the context from which it arose. The rise of tuition is mainly due in part because the colleges need more money to upgrade and stay on top of the technology era. There are also many other reasons why tuition is on the rise though. One writer states that, ââ¬Å"As almost every state reels from the effects of recession and tax cuts, legislatures slash funding for higher education, the largest discretionary item in most state budgets. â⬠(Reed Jr. , p. 25). Another writer states, ââ¬Å"A need to improve facilities, state budgets that are declining and inflation are all contributing to the rising cost of higher education, and there appears to be no end in sight. â⬠(Gallagher, The Augusta Chronicle). This same writer gives another reason, ââ¬Å"Universities, private and public, have to raise tuition to cover the costs of new construction, renovations and technological advancements and to keep qualified professors. â⬠(The Augusta Chronicle). All of these statements show that there are many reasons why college tuition is on the rise, but they donââ¬â¢t seem to make sense to me. There should be other ways that colleges are able to pay for these advances in technology and inflation besides just hiking up the tuition cost. The tuition cost is so high that they have plenty of money to pay for all of the technological advances that they want and still have money left over for others things that the school has to be able to pay for from the tuition from students. In one presidential debate between Sen. John Kerry and President Bush, ââ¬Å"Sen. John Kerry accused President Bush of under funding aid programs, while Bush touted college access as one of the top priorities of his economic plan. â⬠Both of the candidates seem to agree on one thing though, ââ¬Å"Going to college just keeps getting more expensive. â⬠(Opening the College Gates) This goes to show that no matter who is talking everyone agrees that tuition is going to rise even more in the years to come. Later on in the same article the author states, ââ¬Å"But while both candidates have offered an array of new financing plans, many analysts worry that neither manââ¬â¢s proposals will come close to what is necessary to make college more accessible and affordable for everyone. â⬠If the candidates canââ¬â¢t make college more affordable then the proposals donââ¬â¢t make any sense. They should come up with proposals that will actually help student and parents pay for college instead of just making proposals for the sake of making proposals. Bush has made a lot of promises, but one that I hope he holds to is one made in the article Opening the College Gates where it says, ââ¬Å"Bush pledges to increase student aid by six percent and will try to link federal aid more closely to academics by offering a one thousand dollar scholarship to Pell recipients who take college-prep classes in high school, along with five thousand dollars more in aid to students who study math and science in college. â⬠If he holds up this claim then a lot more people will be able to hopefully afford college and keep enrollment rates up. On the other hand, ââ¬Å"Kerry plans to give tax credits on the first four thousand dollars of tuition to all college students whose parents earn less than one hundred thousand dollars. The credit would cover one hundred percent of the first one thousand dollars and fifty percent of the rest ? essentially functioning as an extra two thousand five hundred dollar Pell grant. â⬠(Opening the College Gates) I donââ¬â¢t think that this claim is a very realistic claim because there are tons of people who earn fewer than one hundred thousand dollars and thereââ¬â¢s no way that the government could pay for everyone to get back four thousand dollars. College tuition has changed greatly from back in the seventies. All of the following stats were obtained from a website by Citibank. For a Private Four-Year University in 1971-72 it cost about $7,000, and in 2000-01 it costs $16,332. For a Private Two-Year University in 1971-72 it cost aboutà $4,500, and in 2000-01 it costs $7,458. For a Public Four-Year University in 1971-72 it cost about $1,900, and in 2000-01 it costs $3,510. For a Public Two-Year University in 1971-72 it cost about $1,000, and in 2000-01 it costs $1,705. All of these prices even seem high back in the seventies. Even though they seem high I wish these were the prices now. Almost every person that I have read has agreed that college tuition fees have almost doubled in the past ten years. One researcher said, ââ¬Å"Average tuition at public flagship universities rose 9% this year, vs. 14% a year agoâ⬠(USA Today, Sep. 14, 2004). Another researcher stated, ââ¬Å"Over the past decade, tuition rose 47% at public four-year colleges and 42% at their private counterpartsâ⬠(Hempel, Issue 3885). This is a huge jump for just ten years, if this continues the tuition costs will be extremely high in a few years. They may become so high that their enrollment rates may drop because of it. Most of the colleges make money off of the tuition. The money that they do make usually goes back into the university for enhancements and additions to buildings. They also use the money to help stay up with computer technologies. Even though they do all of these advances they still have to have money to pay teachers salaries and be able to pay for scholarships that some students earn. Many colleges arenââ¬â¢t only raising the tuition costs, but they are also raising the cost of textbooks. According to the Washington Post, ââ¬Å"The National Association of College Bookstores says wholesale prices of college textbooks have risen nearly forty percent in the past five years. â⬠(Washington Post, Sep. 18, 2004). This helps to show that the colleges are gaining money from some other way besides just the tuition to make ends meet. They could also use this money from the textbooks to help pay for things that are needed for the school to make it better or help aid in the inflation. They could also use this money to pay for student scholarships. There are many different ways that families can help ease the cost of college. USA Today gives six different ideas to help a family pay for college. One way they say is called the 529 plan which according to USA Today is, ââ¬Å"These state-sponsored plans offer a tax-advantaged way to investà for college tuition and other expenses. ââ¬Å" Another way is prepaid tuition plans, ââ¬Å"These plans let you purchase contracts that lock in tuition rates at state colleges and universities. â⬠The third way is Education Savings Accounts (ESAs), ââ¬Å"Education Savings Accounts let you invest in mutual funds, exchange-traded funds or other investments for your childââ¬â¢s education. â⬠The next way is Vanguardââ¬â¢s Education Resource Center, ââ¬Å"You can use the money for primary and secondary private school tuition along with college expenses. â⬠The fifth way is Uniform Gifts to Minors Act and Uniform Transfers to Minors Act (UGMA/UTMA) accounts, ââ¬Å"Uniform Gifts to Minors Act and Uniform Transfers to Minors Act accounts are in your childââ¬â¢s name, but you control the assets until the child is 18 or 21, depending on your state. â⬠The last way is Roth IRA, ââ¬Å"Ordinarily, if you withdraw money from a Roth individual retirement account before age 59 ?, youââ¬â¢ll have to pay taxes on investment gains, plus a 10% penalty. But you can always withdraw the amount of your contributions, without paying taxes or penalties. Withdraw more than that, and youââ¬â¢ll owe taxes on the gains, but the 10% penalty is waived if the money is used for college. â⬠(USA Today, Sep. 14, 2004). All of these plans they list could be very helpful to anyone who needs help gaining their college education. Most of them need to be planned before a child is already accepted into college though, so if someone needs the money think ahead. Try to find another way if possible to not take out college loans. With a college loan the school gets a lot of money back on the interest. It may sound like a good idea at first but in the end will end up hurting you. A reporter from Newsweek has come up with five more ways that students can help pay for college; make your case, focus on the bottom line, prepare for the future, fill the gaps, and break down and borrow. According to Linda Stern, ââ¬Å"Most schools that provide aid will reconsider their offer if you can show them you have less money than they thought. â⬠The next suggestion she talks about is to focus on the bottom line, ââ¬Å"The biggest award may not be the best deal if itââ¬â¢s mostly loans or comes from the most expensive school. â⬠The third concept she talks about is to prepare for the future, ââ¬Å"Ask the school to commit to a four-year award, and structure your familyââ¬â¢s finances to lower your bill. â⬠The next method she talks about is to fill the gaps, ââ¬Å"Many schools will break down the bursarââ¬â¢s bill into more digestible bites. â⬠The last approach she says that students can help pay for college is to break down and borrow, ââ¬Å"At todayââ¬â¢s low rates, itââ¬â¢s hard to find a better deal than a student loan. â⬠(Stern, Issue 15). All of these ways are very good ideas to help pay for college, a few of them will need some planning before-hand in order to get the job done. As long as parents and children start thinking about the college of their choice before they are a senior in high school then they should be able to afford it. Thinking of ways to pay for college is a good idea but families should also be figuring out who will pay for college and how much. Most parents will do anything they can to have their child go to the University of their choice, but what most parents donââ¬â¢t think about is the repercussions. The author of the article Who pays for COLLEGE? says, ââ¬Å"think of paying for college as a joint venture, with kids pitching in to give themselves a stake in their own education. â⬠She then goes on to say, ââ¬Å"kids can get a degree for a fraction of the cost by attending a community college for two years and then transferring to a four-year school. â⬠(Who pays for COLLEGE? ) These are both great ideas to keep in mind for parents who are willing to help their child pay for college. If a child helps pay for college then they usually want to do better in school because they are paying for part of the schooling, so if they mess up then they are losing money. I donââ¬â¢t know too many students are willing to give away their money for no apparent reason to someone else. There is one author who actually claims that college tuition has not risen, and actually declined. The author of the article Tuition fees donââ¬â¢t tell whole truth states, ââ¬Å"With grants at an all-time high and tax-advantaged college savings plans growing rapidly, the studyââ¬â¢s authors claim that average tuition costs at public four-year colleges ? excluding room and board, books and transportation and plenty else ? have actually declined. â⬠(Tuition fees donââ¬â¢t tell whole truth) I donââ¬â¢t think that I agree with this author just for the fact that there are too many facts to prove otherwise. I stated a lot of numbers earlier to show that tuition had almost doubled in the past ten years, and now this lady comes along and says that no tuition is actually cheaper. This doesnââ¬â¢t make any sense to me, but maybe thatââ¬â¢s just me. I believe that tuition is on the rise and there isnââ¬â¢t much that we can do about it. If the government and Universities want to make the tuition higher then they are going to, no matter what anyone says about it. I think that the only way to deal with the tuition increase is to start saving money for college early in life and hope that it doesnââ¬â¢t get to high before you get there, especially since college education is so highly sought after and held in such high regard. If parents and children will just sit down and figure out a plan on how to pay for college before they are a junior or senior in high school then there should be no problem in paying for it. 12 Good Friday Quotes
Good Friday is the day Christians commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and the triumph of good over evil. It is a day to reflect on spiritual thoughts, the Bible, and the meaning of sacrifice and salvation. These Good Friday quotes explore the meaning of the day. Bible, 1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self-bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. John Ellerton Take with you the joy of Easter to the home, and make that home bright with more unselfish love, more hearty service; take it into your work, and do all in the name of the Lord Jesus; take it to your heart, and let that heart rise anew on Easter wings to a higher, a gladder, a fuller life; take it to the dear grave-side and say there the two words Jesus lives! and find in them the secret of calm expectation, the hope of eternal reunion. Charles Wesley Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia! Our triumphant holy day, Alleluia! Who did once upon the cross, Alleluia! Suffer to redeem our loss. Alleluia! Madame Anne Sophie Swetchine Death is the justification of all the ways of the Christian, the last end of all his sacrifices, the touch of the Great Master which completes the picture. Augustus William Hare The cross was two pieces of dead wood; and a helpless, unresisting Man was nailed to it; yet it was mightier than the world, and triumphed, and will ever triumph over it. Thomas De Witt Talmage We see that brow bruised; we hear that dying groan; and while the priests scoff and the Devils rave and the lightning of Gods wrath are twisted into a wreath for that bloody mount, you and I will join the cry, the supplication, of the penitent malefactor, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. Martin Luther Our Lord has written the promise of the resurrection, not in books alone but in every leaf in springtime. At Sussen, the Devil carried off, last Good Friday, three grooms who had devoted themselves to him. Bible, Isaiah 52:13 See, my servant shall prosper, he shall be raised high and greatly exalted. Bible, John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Frederic William Farrar By the cross, we, too, are crucified with Christ; but alive in Christ. We are no more rebels, but servants; no more servants, but sons! Let it be counted folly, says Hooker, or fury, or frenzy, or whatever else; it is our wisdom and our comfort. We care for no knowledge in the world but this, that man hath sinned, and that God hath suffered; that God has made Himself the Son of Man, and that men are made the righteousness of God. Phillips Brooks We may say that on the first Good Friday afternoon was completed that great act by which light conquered darkness and goodness conquered sin. That is the wonder of our Saviourââ¬â¢s crucifixion. There have been victories all over the world, but wherever we look for the victor we expect to find him with his heel upon the neck of the vanquished. The wonder of Good Friday is that the victor lies vanquished by the vanquished one. We have to look deeper into the very heart and essence of things before we can see how real the victory is that thus hides under the guise of defeat.

Alcohol Abuse And Alcohol Misuse Essay - 2324 Words
Offences of a violent nature exist as an immense plight to victims, society and also to the offenders themselves (Whitehead, Ward Collie, 2007). More specifically, violent crimes associated with alcohol misuse are considered to accumulate to half of all violent crimes conducted across the United Kingdom (UK) (Budd, 2010). From this point alone, it could be construed that alcohol misuse is a determinant of violent offending behaviour. However, according to Matreau (2008) alcohol should not be considered to be a cause of crime but instead a catalyst through which the offenderââ¬â¢s behaviour is exacerbated. Zhang (1997) furthers this argument by suggesting that alcohol interacts with other characteristics of offending, as well as the context in which the alcohol misuse arises, acting as a moderating variable for the crime to occur. There has since been significant research conducted around the strength of the alcohol-violence relationship in males (e.g. Watt, Shepherd Newcombe, 20 08; Gannon, 2007). Such research suggests that regular chronic alcohol misuse increases the likelihood of aggression and antisocial behaviour and therefore simultaneously increases the opportunity for violent crime to transpire (Felson Staff, 2010; Hoaken Phil, 2000). Due to the high volume of violent crimes reportedly committed every year, (Needham, Gummerum, Mandeville-Norden, Rakestrow-Dickens, Mewse, Barnes Hanoch, 2015; Budd, 2010;Krug et al., 2002),with and without alcohol as aShow MoreRelatedCommon Risks Of Alcohol Misuse Or Abuse, Transportation, And Lapses1941 Words à |à 8 Pagesâ⬠¢ Present for new members every fall and as each additional group is pledged. â⬠¢ Topics include: o Most common risks of alcohol misuse or abuse, transportation, and lapses in personal security. o Hazing. o Jeopardizing the property or well-being of members. o Issues from Risk Management Procedures. ï⠾ Participate in New Member Experience programming. â⬠¢ The Risk Management Chairman works in conjunction with the New Member Chairman to present new member information. Comparison between Roman and American Political Institutions Free Essays
The Roman civilization was one of the most important civilizations occurred in the world. Political system in the Roman period encouraged peopleââ¬â¢s participation and paved the way for democracy. The ancient political structure in the Roman period influenced the future democracies of Europe and other parts of the world. We will write a custom essay sample on Comparison between Roman and American Political Institutions or any similar topic only for you Order Now In the modern period, the United States is considered a role model for many democracies across the globe. There are several countries that have emulated the US style of democracy in their political system. While Roman political institutions were symbols of democracy in the ancient and medieval period, the political institutions in the USA hold significance in the modern period. Both Roman and American political institutions have many things in common. Historical Background ââ¬Å"In 27 BC, Emperor Augustus devised a new form of monarchy by offering more powers to the peopleâ⬠(Abbott, 1963). He laid the foundation of a democratic system of the government that became the basis of the political structure of the country. Augustus maintained the forms of republican government until his death. He transferred the legislative function of the assemblies to the Senate. His successors followed the political structure established by him and also revised the structure from time to time. Major changes in the political structure of Rome were noticed in the medieval period. The political structure of the United States is vast and constructive. The US has the worldââ¬â¢s oldest written constitution. ââ¬Å"The US Constitution, which formed the basis for laws and administration of the country, was written in 1787â⬠(King, 1990). There have been many changes in the United States after the Constitution came into force. However, the basic principles remained unchanged. The Constitution provides the guidelines for the structure and functioning of the political institutions of the country. Political Structure in Rome and America The United States is comprised of 50 different states. The political structure of the United States has the federal government, state governments and local governments. The President is the head of the US political system. The federal government of the United States consists of the President, the US Congress and the federal courts. The US Congress is the main political institution of the country, which has two chambers called the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Senate has 100 members, while the House of Representative has 435 members. The political institutions of Rome consisted of the Assemblies, Senate, Curia and Forum. The Roman assemblies were integral parts of the political institutions of Rome. The Roman assemblies had both legislative and judicial powers in the Roman Republic. The Senate is the most deliberative body of the roman political system and it had considerable clout in the roman politics. Roman Assemblies vs American Legislature Unlike the legislatures in the United States, the Roman assemblies used to open the houses directly to the people. The legislatures in the United States and other countries appoint representatives elected by the people. However, Roman assemblies were directly governed by the people. They also possessed important legislative powers such as passing laws and bills. In Roman assemblies, normal citizens did not debate legislation. There were only magistrates who had the power to propose legislation. The Roman assemblies were not deliberative by nature, while the Senate is deliberative. However, both the houses of the US Congress are deliberative. Of the two chambers of the US Congress, the Senate is more deliberative than the House of Representatives. The House of Representatives in the United States is similar to the Assemblies in Roman political structure. It is a house of people and follows public opinion. Just like the Roman assemblies, the House of Representatives has more proximity to the mass sentiments. However, there is one major difference in both the political institutions. While members of the Roman assemblies were appointed by the emperor or the rulers, members of the House of Representatives are elected by the people. Each of the 50 states is represented in the House of Representatives proportional to its population. Each member serves a two years term. The Roman Senate vs the US Senate The Senate in Rome was not an elected body. It was consisted of members from the Roman aristocratic classes. Those senators were primarily former magistrates who had severed in important administrative posts in the past. ââ¬Å"The Senate held the major powers to preserve Roman knowledge and tradition. It always took major decision on religious affairs, public policy and foreign affairs. The Roman Senate was known as the ââ¬Å"Council of Eldersâ⬠. It had around 300 members. The Senators could be expelled if they were found to have committed an act against the public moralsâ⬠(Abbott, 1963). Senators in the United States are directly elected by the people in their respective states. Each state sends two members to the Senate. Each senator serves for a six year period. ââ¬Å"Elections are held for one-third of the seats of the Senate every second year. After being elected, a Senator serves until the expiry of his termâ⬠(King, 1990). Like the Roman Senate, the US Senate is also known as the ââ¬Å"House of Eldersâ⬠. The US Senate has the power to expel any member. Two-thirds majority votes are required to expel a Senator. Judicial Powers The Roman assemblies possessed judicial powers. At a later stage, some of the judicial powers were transferred to permanent courts. Although the separation of powers did not exist in the Roman political system, checks and balances were perfectly maintained. In the United States, the judiciary is separated from the legislature. The Senate or the House of Representatives do not have any authority over the proceeding of the courts. The Supreme Court is the highest judicial body in the United States. While other federal courts are created by the Congress, the Supreme Court has been established by the US Constitution. Local Governments in the United States and Curia and Forum in the Roman Empire ââ¬Å"In the ancient times, a curia was considered as a subdivision of the people. It was a meeting place where the tribe discussed its affairs. At a later stage, a curia became a place where local government held officeâ⬠(Abbott, 1963). Judicial proceedings and government meetings were held in curia. The Roman Forum was the center for commerce, business and administration. All the community-based activities were held at the forum. The local governments in the United States resemble the Roman curia and forum. Local governments in the United States are referred to the governments at the city, town or village. Local governments have own jurisdiction on the developmental work in their areas although they are accountable to the state and federal governments. Conclusion Both the Roman and American political institutions have great significance in propagating democratic values in the world. Political system in the Roman Empire was the basis for the new political structures in the modern world. The US political system, which is being adopted by many countries in the world, is influenced by the ancient Roman political system to a large extent. Bibliography: King, A. (1990). Theories Shows Various Learning Capabilities-Myassignmenthelp.Com
Question: Discuss About The Theories Shows Various Learning Capabilities? Answer: Introduction Learning theories shows various learning capabilities and styles adopted by people in education or in organisation. These styles varies from one person to the other depending on the capacity they can intake while learning (Ghaedi and Jam 2014). The paper focuses on the learning theory suggested by VAK and the application of a particular style from this theory on personal usage. Further the report discusses about a development plan and the responsibility of an employer and employee on each other according to the Australian law. Learning theory VAK Learning style VAK Learning theory was first suggested by a psychologist way back in 1920s. The funder of this theory was child specialists who used to teach small kids. Through their experience about various capabilities in a child, they came up with this theory. It shows three forms of learning style in people and each individual vary in these styles. According to this theory, every person likes to use only single way of learning things. The understanding ability differs from person to person. Some are more used seeing things; while there are others that like to hear and get involved in that thing. Based on this the theory suggested three types of learning style known as the sensory receiver (Gholami and Bagheri 2013). Visual learning: This type of learning involves learning by looking at the visual or video of the topic. These types of learners require more concentration to read each and every aspect presented in the video and also understand the concept the video wants to show (Willis 2017). Auditory learning: This type of learner use audio or oral channels to learn and understand a topic. The oral channels explain the things to the learner and the learner also get a chance to interact in an oral learning. This helps them gain more knowledge in short period of time (Moayyeri 2015). Kinaesthetic learning: This type of learning includes a physical involvement of the learner in the learning session. healthcare involvement can be in the form of a field survey, interview or acting out the story that they are learning. It also requires a lot of self-effort put by the learner just like in visual style. Personal Learning style The most preferred learning style according to my capability is the auditory learning style that involves listening to an audio related to the field of learning (Narvez Prez Hernndez Lpez and Llanos Marn 2017). However, this style also allows the person to speak on the topic along with listening. It also use repetitive method to explain a single thing if it is confusing. This style of learning is helpful as it gives a chance to the leaner to get involved in the discussion and share their own view or convey their thoughts on the views given by others. I have used this type of learning in my office while doing group discussions and I have realised that it helped me learn much easily compared to other methods. For example, in my office, before our presentation we do group discussion where we all discussed about the topic that we were going to present in front of our client. As we discussed the topics and asked each other to explain a part of it which was assigned to us by our team leade r, we realised that our task is getting complete very fast. Thus, auditory style will help to put the thing into the mind of the learner as it is discussed. Skill assessment and plan for development Area for development What does this mean? Give a short personal example Your strategy to improve in this area How can you measure your progress? Category Skill 1 Organising Time management Managing the usage of time among various activities During presentation time I was able to manage my time of organizing my presentation by preparing a schedule time table for myself I will be planning out all my days activity with the help of a timetable so that I can manage my normal tasks as well After few days I will compare my time usage with previous day to see the improvement 2 Creative Think uniquely Ability to create something new and unknown from known things I always got good marks in projects because of my creativity in presentation more than the information provided in the project I am planning to take creativity classes to improve my skills further and be the best at it I will measure my improvement in creativity by excelling in my creative classes 3 Self-managing Working independently Managing everything by your own self I have been self-dependent for all my work at home and in my work Moreover, I also want to live alone in some other city to help me live an independent life I will try to move abroad for my career growth in future so that I can test my ability of living independently I can measure self management if I succeed in staying alone outside 4 Inflexibility Lack of adaptability Not easily adaptable to new things and environment I took time to adapt and mix up with my new colleagues when I shifted from office to another In new places that I will visit from now I will try to go up to the people and start a conversation so that I can get more flexible in new environment and people By seeing the number of attempts made by me to talk to new people 5 Social group Lacking in socializing Ineffectiveness in interacting within a group In group discussion I usually lacked in interacting and giving my views at first among so many people I will take part in debates and discussions help in my office as well as outside and talk as much as I can By the number of attempts I made to be a part of a debate or discussions source: (Authors creation) Being employed Potential employers Employers in the workplace of Australia have some legal and moral obligations towards their employees in the work place. These are called employment-related legislation. These legislations are given on the issues like the tax, payment, leaves and day off to the employees. Thus, the employers should be clear that while formulating their business rules they comply with the law of the legislation (Barry and You 2017). In case of tax obligations the employers have, there are two types of laws such as PAYG and Payroll taxes. On the other hand, while formulating the payment amount for the employees the employers should comply with the minimum wage law of Australia, necessity to issue pay slips, and other payment necessary. The minimum wage is revised by the government every year and should be considered by the employer at the present rate (Hirsch, Kaufman and Zelenska 2015). In case of granting leaves, the employers should include three types o leaves for the employees such as paid leaves, sick leaves and maternity and parental leaves. Superannuation is another facility that is given to the employees by the employers which is also known as the retirement saving facility. The eligibility criteria to be kept in mind are the age of the employee should be between 18 to 69 years and he/show must be fully or pat time employed in the company. Work place environment is the most important scenario to be considered by the employer while planning their infrastructure. Unhealthy environment will affect the health of the workers negatively (Business.qld.gov.au 2017). The government of Australia also employ certain boards and department to take care of this employment laws and punish them incase of any wrong. The employees have the right to reach out to these departments in case of any injustice done to them (Hersch and Shinall 2016). Worksafe department is formed to take care of any harassment and violence in the workplace. Fair Work commission has the responsibility to take care of the bulling that is taking place in the work environment (Capuano 2016). Equal Opportunity Commission Western Australia and Human Rights Commission is formed to look after any discrimination done to employers on ground of sex, race, age and family. Wage line department to look after labour relations and Fair Work Ombudsman for any disruptions in workplace rights (Novak 2014). Role of the Employees Along with these rights and benefits that the employer offers to their employees, the workers of the business also have some obligations and responsibility towards their employers (Government of Western Australia 2017). The most common responsibilities of the employee are: To be honest towards the work they do in the workplace To make justice and sensible decision that is required in a particular situation Not to disturb the environment of the company y taking part in activities such as trade unions Obey the orders given by the employers provided they are legal and right Work carefully and responsibly for every work that it allotted to the employee by the employers Not to do illegal activities in the business by getting in touch with the competitors of the business To mange with the holidays and week offs with the company in case of urgencies Thus, this shows both the employees and employers are eligible for certain obligations to each other in order to make the business work successfully.
